In 1941 the Lehigh Valley would purchase 150, Bethlehem steel built, 65' drop end gondolas, road numbers 34050-34199. pictured is LV 34174.

Bethlehem Steel built in 1964-1965, the Lehigh Valley leased 60 (Road numbers 51100-51159) 4462 Cu Ft, 98-ton, 3 Bay covered hoppers w/ trough hatches for grain service. Pictured is LV 51109.

Pictured is a 40' wood box car w/ steel ends and underframe, rebuilt from the 8000 series at the Sayre shops in 1934. Series road numbers for the rebuilt cars is 78000-78999, Pictured is LV 78558.

1965 PRR built X58 class, 50' insulated plug door box car, LV purchases 40 cars, road numbers 7100-7139. Pictured is LV 7113.

In the 1953-54 time frame, The Lehigh Valley would purchase 2, 57' Center Depressed Flat Cars from General Steel Castings, Road Numbers 9960 & 9961 (pictured below)

Built between 1907 and 1910, the Lehigh Valley would obtain (approx) 2900, 36' Wood Box Cars (w/ steel underframes, corrugated ends and 6' doors). Road numbers for the series was 84301-87201, pictured below is 85278.

Starting in 1938 the Lehigh Valley would convert 50 of its' Quad Hoppers (from the 40000 series) to a 70-ton, 3-bay covered hopper. Road Numbers 50100-50149, pictured below is 50135.

Here are a couple more LV offerings from the 40000 series quads, starting in 1939 they would produce 100, 70 Ton, 2-Bay Covered Hoppers, Road Numbers 50150-50249. (pictured below is 50159)

In 1968 the LV would purchase 100, X65 class, 50 ft Box Cars from Penn Central, Road Numbers for the series is 8300-8399. (pictured below is 8337)

In 1904 Pressed Steel Car Company would produce 1100, 50-ton, 2 Bay Hoppers. Road numbers 20001-21100 (plus 2 cars which were replacements for 2 destroyed cars). Pictured is LV 21092.

Pictured below is LV 40500, a 40', 70-ton quad hopper, built by Standard Steel Car in 1927. A total of 1000 are built in the series, Road Numbers 40000-40999.

My barn was built with Lehigh Valley freight cars which were retired. Th numbers LV 7376, LV 46443, and LV 70759 are visible. Any idea what kind of cars they were? There are more numbers that I cannot read.Thank you!

Any Idea when your barn was built? Those LV cars are not listed in the 1945 or 1958 ORERs.
