Ray:

I doubt the 94062 is red.  In a black and white photo, red would show up as a darker color-check the passenger car/work car/tool car/whatever the caboose is coupled to.

Given how "bright"-for lack of a better word-the 94062 is in the photo, my guess is that it is either white or a light gray.  Perhaps yellow, but I doubt it-that does not seem to be a reasonable choice for the time.

Keep posting the photos-I am learning a few things along the way here and that is what counts!

photoman475,

Like I said, I have no clue as to the color.

So light gray sounds reasonable.

Actually I was referring to LV96263 the other bobber caboose when I replied. Sorry about that.

94062 is yellow!

Nice color photo in the book "CNJ/LV Color Guide to Freight and Passenger equipment" by Craig T. Bossler - Morning Sun Books.

oddly, the book has no page numbers..but if you have the book, the photo wont be hard to find..near the back.

Thanks for the color update, Mr. Chaos.

They must have been "stealing" paint ideas from the PRR-some of their MoW equipment was painted yellow.
