Compare with entry in Register, this trailer confirms prevailing, latest standards of the time. It 40' OAL x 8' W x 12' 6" H.
(H Max Allowed, note this reported as 12' 5")

What is possibly beyond human understanding? Why ever LVRR had these painted? The highway competitors, as a rule,
did not follow the extravagance...

Why ever LVRR had these painted?

I believe the answer is as simple as this, the LVZ 200001-200058 Series trailers were leased from Excelsior Truck Leasing Company, who's parent was the PRR and I believe at that time all trailers in Truc-Train service wore that paint.

Thanks! Explains all of it. The legacy PENNA RR was not at all shy on putting its "Tuscan Red" on most anything!

See the Line 17, Note A, pair of Insulated Trailers. The somewhat heavier Empty Weight didn't help.

Difficult to figure why LV needed them. Perhaps both in some sort of "pool" service for loading fresh
melons ex Georgia and Florida for Northeast markets? Insulated Trailers good, too, during Northeast
Winter seasons.

Once I can find a scanner big enough to scan my (at least) two foot long blueprint of the Johnston Ave Jersey City TOFC Yard (circa 1956, IIRC), I'll post it here.

I'll also look for my original copy of the Grand Street TOFC yard, too.

Pictured below is RLVZ 305242, I currently do not have roster data on this trailer, but it was obliviously after January 1972.

RLVZ trailers were leased from REALCO [REA leasing company]

does anyone have OIER listing for REALCO for late 70's? I have only the REALCO 1963 ORER, which predates the use of "Z" reporting marks.

The 8/73 & 2/74 OIER for LV has XLVR [XTRA leasing] listed box trailers, but no RLVZ trailers
