John once again you have outdone yourself. LNE#2 is great. I love the stuff at Bath and Dexter Hill. The views of the other roads DL&W,N&B and O&W are all rare stuff in movies with great views. Great stuff keep up the good work.

John,
I just viewed volume 1 of the LNE Railroad. Simply amazing! Really appreciate the work you've done to reduce film grain, eliminate hand-held jerkiness (it has the smooth look of everything being shot using a tripod), enhance color and synchronize the sound effects. Only the subject matter kept me realizing that I was watching images shot not yesterday, but 50 years ago.

The editing was great and the storytelling by Mr. Bealer and Bednar was very informative. I felt like I was viewing a model railroad with the tight track curves and incredibly interesting structures at Catasauqua and West Catasauqua.

Anyone shooting video today would benefit from viewing the composition and angles that were achieved by the men who shot this film (compose a great scene, let the train do the movement, and there is NEVER a need to zoom in and out!).

Thanks again, and looking forward to purchasing more of your work!

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad you enjoyed the DVDs. Look for volume 3 near the end of this year or beginning of next. It will cover the LNE after 1961 up to present day.

Just a heads up, volume 3 is slated for release sometime in November - December at the latest.

And there MAY be a volume 4. We acquired some footage of the LNE in the days of steam - some B&W and some GREAT color shots. Hopefully we can find some more to make this happen. It will be a LNE variety title.

Cross your fingers!

Volume 3 is done. It won't be up on the website until next week - I'll keep you updated.

In the mean time, there will be copies for sale at the Sentimental Journey Slide show in Mountain Top Saturday Nov 3 and at the CMRS train show in Jim Thorpe on Sunday Nov 4.

Thanks for putting up the link. It's been crazy here.

Still waiting on my webmaster to bounce back from more than a week of no power. So it may be a little more time until it appears on the website.

While waiting for it to appear on the website, will have copies for sale at the AMTA Train Show at the Allentown Fairgrounds this coming weekend Nov 10 & 11. If you can make it to the show, look for our table near the Hawk Mountain Chapter tables.

Picked up volume 3 at the First Frost meet in Allentown this weekend.
Another great video. Loved the footage driving along the old right away - that is some gutsy driving...

Just a heads up, I have released another DVD with LNE content, Along the Bridge Lines to Maybrook. While only half is dedicated to the LNE, this portion covers primarily steam with the maiden run of the Alco FAs from Pen Argyl to Maybrook and return.

The other half covers the LNE's sister bridge route, the LHR from the Lehigh Valley to Maybrook from the late 40's to the 1970's
