Photo #4: #58, Class E-10, the only loco in this class, built by Baldwin, C/N 32838, July 1908, scrapped Feb. 1941. This locomotive was originally Lehigh Coal & Navigation #33, was used on the Panther Creek Railroad and sold to the L&NE in Dec. 1913, rebuilt by the L&NE in 1916.

Photo 7: Another view of #29, details of this loco accompany the first photo. Note the people in the photo, including a woman on the right. Possibly an early fan trip? (Photo dated 7/16/39)

Photo 8: #135, Class I-5, built by Baldwin Feb. 1931, C/N 61602 superheated new, scrapped April 1950. These brutes had to be some of my favorite steam power. The L&NE had six of this class, numbered 131-136. Note: The first three locos in this class (131-133) were built in Oct. 1927. However, #134, 135 & 136 were built in Feb. 1931. The photo caption is incorrect.

PS-Doesn't it drive you crazy to see Pen Argyl listed as "Penn Argyle"?

The aforementioned article is based on rebuilds the LNE performed on 4 consolidation locomotives (road numbers 7, 8, 11 & 12) that it purchased from the Pennsylvania Railroad, all would be sold before 1910.
