Rather than clog up the Swartswood topic, I figured with the pics it would be a good idea to start a new thread.
I was out on 3/16 taking pictures of both the NYSW & L&NE in northern NJ and the following is what I have to offer. For now it is the intersection with the NYSW just outside of Sussex, but will add others later.
This first is the crossing with the NYSW in Sussex looking north to Pine Island.

Looking south towards Rt. 23 overpass even though you can't see it. To the right was a siding, heading back towards camera, for interchange with the NYSW.

Workin my way back to Rt. 23 there is MOW building. Not too bad shape for 45 years of not being used.

Looking south, Deckertown extension is on the right. The main line to Pelletown is left.

Foundation of building at Owens crossing. I remember this building as a small 2 story structure, similar to a tower. Someone once told me it was a residence. That may have been after the line was abandoned.

BTW, my wife gave me a great book called the Next Station will be - NYS&W - Middletown and East. In the book are all the stations of the NYS&W main line (Midland) In there is a picture of Martins Station. I have an ide of where it was but not the exact location though. Any ideas?

I'm not quite sure, but the older USGS map I have calls out Martins on the south side of Rt. 23 across from the Chrysler dealership south of Sussex. I would figure it should have been where the NYS&W crossed Rt. 565(light at dealership) going to Vernon by Ames Rubber. I don't ever remember seeing the shack there as a kid(late 60s), but by then it could have been demolished.

I believe the station was removed in the 30s sometime. I bet your location is probably very close.

I'm gonna post the map on NYS&W site, so as not to get off topic here and get moderators upset.

John,

Thanks again for providing the information. Once it stops raining, I'm going to have to go exploring in this area.

I did it again!!!!!
I had some time after dentist appointment so I stopped at High Point Chevy dealership in Sussex. They had a bunch of pictures of the creamery, downtown Sussex and gave me permission to photograph them. I pull out the camera and the $%^^##@&^& batteries were dead!!! I guess I will never learn to bring an extra set with me.
