I find this structure in what I believe is the Pequest area. What RR crossed here?
Was it the DL&W

Jim,

I hear that some committee wanted to remove them to make a rail-to-trail path there but the owner didn't want people to go by the station in fear of vandals so, the tracks remain. This bring us up to the war on whether to keep the tracks or remove them for a trail.

I say leave them! It's history! You most likely knew I would say that...

Ken,

That was the Warren RR interchange with the LnHR. I don't really know who owned the bridge though.

You should definitely take a walk on the hillside above that bridge. It was the location of Pequest furnace. There is some neat ruins up there, and a huge slag pile.

The WRR is on the top of the hill with a large rock cut. Thats a neat area.

I have a bunch of pictures on my photo page, which I know you have been to before. If anyone else wants to see em...

Mike,

Thanks for the information and the pictures. It helps a lot.

Someday, I will have to explore the Lackawanna in the Waterloo area.

Now used by the NYS&W. They sometimes make stops here as the food is pretty good.

Another shot of the station. It smells real good in there   I should have purchased a sandwhich. Now I know why there are always cars there.
