Very nice. Early containerization for milk transport that was used by the ERIE, O&W and others. One of these days I will add one of these to my milk train. The Gilbert is a rare one, I'll probably use one of the F&C kits.

Hey Fan; If you are getting one from a dealer at a train show, make sure it has its decals with it. F&C doesn't make extra decals.

Hi Frank - yes I remember that from our earlier discussion. I did find Bordens decals available from a vendor on ebay if you are interested.

The Scale train Show at Timonium Maryland.

* Well the train show at Timonium, Maryland was good from my point of view. I was able to turn some of my not so well liked trains into some others with more promise. What's gone isn't important. What I have now has hope.
* First and most important is a 3 piece Varney train set. Combine, coach, and observation cars   of Varney's old metal line. They are 65 footers, shorty's to some, but size isn't always the most important thing to think of. They were a set of Pennsy cars where all lettering and striping was removed. The new name applied for this high speed streamlined passenger train is the
"Mari-Anne Limited".That is my wife's name, so getting this set does score some points for me. A pair of Gilbert 0-6-0 switchers, a NYC Caboose, and a operating NYC box car also Gilbert. From Marx a green industrial switched, a New Haven RR operating box car, and a Santa-Fe caboose. A fancy pinstriped Hornby-Dublo Pullman in chocolate and cream, with oval windows at each end, narrow decorative entrance vestibules also with larger oval windows, featuring flowering leaded glass lights, and chairs, tables with lamps in every window. It matches a Triang set I have already. A Atlas and a Varney 2 bay covered hoppers. The Atlas is Lehigh Valley, and the Varney is ACL. A Train Miniature old wood reefer painted and lettered for the Peerless Brewery completes the cars. A Mantua NYC 0-4-0t with saddle tank and a 2-8-0 by Aristo craft, missing a front pilot, and the tender completes the find.
* As always here 2 photos mean two posts. I would rather put them in one post but in doesn't work that way here.

Got up this morning and got in the car and went to Hamburg PA train show. Had a coffee and a couple of hot dogs, and found a mantua 2-6-6-2 that was made into a 0-6-6-2 and painted for the Reading. Also a long sought after Gilbert 0-6-0 31019 the B&O un-cataloged locomotive. Also two tyco-mantua ho cars lettered for the U.S. Army. A box car and a bobber caboose.

***   The Scale train Show at Hamburg PA .
**  It was on July 31 2016.
**  A few posts to show a walk around the hall. Kind of a what is seen tour. With so many tables of trains very little is shown here. Just trying to give a feel of what it was like on that day.
**  First photo is of the entrance as I approached it.

Yesterday, 9-10-2016 was the train show at Merchants Square mall in Allentown Pa. I like acquiring old trains from back when I was a kid. I arranged through a friend to get a Gilbert Bell ringing Alco in C&O paint, 31022. That made my day. Strolling around the show I came upon a lot of interesting trains. A assembled and painted 3 car set of old style Mantua brass passenger cars caught my eye. I did take a photo and here it is .
 frank

Oh! And no.  The coaches are not two different scales. The photo is distorted making the top car seem larger that the bottom one.

Yesterday was the Carlstadt train show. Today was the Wayne train show.
I would guess that the items I got today are highly recognizable. If you need a list. Post a request.
 frank
The O&W F3A is a Stewart, the DEEP-ROCK 3 dome is a Athearn all metal line. 2 Lionel diesels, a Marx diesel, Varney, Liliput, Thomas, and Ulrich fill out the manufactures.

** I went to the Allentown First frost train show last Saturday. 11-12-2016.
I got in early just after 8AM. Meet a friend and strolled around together. He was delivering a spare Penn Line crusader to a dealer he knows who wanted one for his collection. Then on to another dealer from whom he had ordered a Broadway Limited train set. In the middle of this I found a few items of interest and purchased them. We went out and dropped off the train set in his car.My friend had to leave early but remain with me as I went looking for more stuff. We wound up walking around for a over anther hour and a half, with me and him getting a few more things. He left latter then he had originally want to. Over an hour. I guess he'll be late.
Back to looking for more stuff. I left the show at 12, noon and drove home. some photos.

going to take a bunch of posts to post these photos.
