If your speaking about these Marx cars, they never were the Apex of anything. They looked good, were very affordable, and easy to keep running.

The next Marx car is a NYC Pacemaker box car with white lettering. NYC 174479. You can see the last owner painted the roof and ends black.

This Marx car is another box car. A second NYC Pacemaker car. This one is different because of the lighter gray used and the Black lettering.

This doesn't end the Marx box cars I have in NYC. Marx also made a Early Bird box car in HO.

* sorry to interrupt the Marx cars being put in at this time.
* Last Saturday's flea market find. A DL&W bow(0pps) box car with a wood floor,  wood sides and ends, and a wood roof. I'll call it a all wood DL&W box car!
* Its got to be old. 1950's or 1960's at least.
* It is in need of sliders for the doors. A break wheel, and couplers and pockets. That should complete this old box car.

PS Does anyone notice the blue and yellow structure behind the station to the right. It is a temporary structure for the Centerville toy train celebration built by the Louis Marx Company. Yep a big event for the little people with marching band and marching soldiers with flags and everything. A good time will be had by all. Traffic will be diverted around the west side of town. Around the deep central valley in the middle of Centerville.

Well here is another old wood box car made from a kit way back in the 1950's.
I don't know who made but it has a very modern logo on it.

This Car, and recalling old memories, has the look and "feel" of the AMBROID kits. At the time, though, can't recall any
of its box car kits with pre-painted sides and ends. So, this the product of another vendor?

The "GLOBE LINE" may recall shipper owned equipment of a Car Loader firm of the name. Overall, the styling captures
appearances in the 1890 - 1915 Era?

I kind of remember Main Line models as being a producer of old all wood kits. Around 1950 AC Models, Ambroid, Model Masters, Model Hobbies, Red Ball, Silver Streak, Laconia, 20th Century, Ulrich, and Walters are listed in catalogs of that time. I wont be going to HOseeker to go through the catalogs there yet.
I spent some time yesterday and today on my CRR of NJ 4-4-2.  Not a lot getting done.
