* For one thing I like finding old wood and metal kit car and getting them back on rails. Does anyone remember "Railway HO Models" A company from Phoenix Oregon. The price tags on these boxs says they were purchased from Bitzer & Warwick of Pasadena Calif. Does anyone know anything of either the Cars. Their Manufactures. Or the place who sold the cars.

Globe is one name I've heard of.  I believe it ended up as part of Athearn-Athearn's original F7 was from the original Globe dies.  The other one I've never heard of before.

I have a couple of old Ulrich metal coal hoppers to work on-one needs decals and some paint repaired, the other needs trucks, hopper door work and a repaint and decals.  They should be fun when I finally get around to them.

Mainline Models made this all wood kit. It is of a 50' wood outside braced box car. The different thing about it is it was called a " door and a half " type. You can see why. A Southern Pacific Autmobile car. When made correctly as this one is the doors will slide open.

I think you may be right about the old Globe metal kits being produced by Athearn.  I bought a Bowser metal car kit in about 1987 or 1988 that had been part of the Athearn metal kit line.  So, it's lineage prpbably goes back to Globe!

Red Ball is another old greta name.  They also did some brass diesels in the 1960s and 1970s.  I wanted to buy their H16-44 when it came out-but Dad said it cost too much, even though I had enough money to get it!  'Twas freshman year in high school, as I recall....

Alen ; Being a old fart, I have had some chances to get some Red Ball Power. I have passed up most. I do have the Baldwin double ender diesel that was made only for the CNJ. Also one steamer. A CNJ 4-6-0 camelback. The diesel is a very slow runner. The steamer is good.

Athearn made many different types of cars with many road names. This is a all metal, 32 foot tank car, of 1950's vintage. ATLAS Oil Corporation.

And then there's some of the other old names from the past-Marx, Varney, Lindberg and Revell for example.

I'm sure there's others.  I have a few Marx and Varney cars, but no Lindberg or Revell.

I also have a couple of Hobbytown locos with metal shells, one of which has a short in it I haven't found yet.  The other one barely runs at all.

Here is a old all metal 40 foot reefer, Carnation Milk. It has a stainless steel roof. I think from looking at old instruction sheets, that this is a old Athearn Metal reefer. It is made in the USA.
