I wish that someone would come up with some new passenger cars at a price that will not break the bank like Walther. IHC cars are low prices but are very bad.

Most of my passenger cars are Rivarossi. Excellent cars, excellent running and easy to maintain.

You've got to decide whether you want more and then are willing to pay for it, or you will settle for less, at a lesser cost.
I'm not certain why IHC cars are 'bad'.  They have been done in many road schemes, some of them quite complicated, and not found elsewhere.  They have installable interiors.  They are, in the main, patterend after a prototype.
They are yards ahead of much earlier passenger car models.

I've installed interiors on all my Vista Dome cars. Just the Domes. Made all the fixtures out of scraps, usually of styofoam. The people are HO gauge, and are commercially bought. Looks great as the train rolls by. The tail car, a dome, even has a wet bar with waitresses. Let your imagination go wild.

I had Rivarossi's corrugated passenger cars that IHC used to sale. There are good looking cars. When Walthers came out with theirs, I wanted my favorite train the Silver Champion made up with these cars. I have 7 cars, but at a price of $50 to$70 a car is to me a little high for me. The Rivarossi cars for which I had 15, I gave the pullman and grill car to a kid down the street, but I still have the coachs for which I will not give up.

IHC cars could be made to run fine with just a little effort.  I have Walthers and Branchline cars that have just as many problems.  I would rather have the IHC cars.  They were easier to deal with.  Unfortunately, I think IHC has gone out of business.

I have used AHM/Rivarossi Heavyweight and Lightweight passenger cars for many years.  Out of the box, they are very light and need weight to run better.  I've converted quite a few into other configuations and am now converting a bunch of heavyweights to other room styles using NERS parts.  They are fun to work with and use on my road.

I keep hearing from other railroader, that if you want good liking car you have to pay it. I like the way that Walther's car look, but they run badly for me. The rivarossi that IHC used to sale was a very good looking cars and runs very good. I will not buy another Walthers car. I wish that Kato would made more car.

Sadly, IHC did go out of business.  So, unless someone else picks up the line, what's in the stores and at swap sessions and on eBay is it.

IHC is out of business? I am so sorry to hear this. I love in the Philly area and I have stop by IHC and AHM for years and doing business with them. There was a man who work there who was just great by the name of Chris.  I guess when Rivarossi stop and IHC was saleing the newer trains that did not add up that IHC could not stay in business.

I don't remember IHC selling Rivarossi.  AHM had a sale agreement with Rivarossi, and certainly sold their locomotives, and all of them had the name 'Rivarossi' moulded on a bottom plate, under the cab.
I do not remember seeing the name on any of the IHC passenger cars.
I have had many of their locos, and every one I have ever seen was marked Yuogslavia, or Slovenia, or later, Mehano.
Not too long ago, IHC had a longish sale promotion for their pass. cars, of $7.98.  I don't believe they could have been selling Rivarossi cars for that price.

Anyone Remember the American Model Toy Co. They made some all metal passenger cars. They were mostly aluminum with stainless steel roofs. I am removing orange and black paint that was across the window areas of my set and returning to base metal sides. There are 3 cleaned so far. A combine, coach and diner.
