This is one of my Turbines posed with a Big Boy, which did actually happen in 1958 at Cheyenne.  There was no Daylight in the orginal picture.

Nice looking engines, Zephyr.
Is the Maroon w/star a Katy heritage?
Where do you run the 4-12-2?

Thanks for the complement.
the Katy is a Genesis Heritage unit.

I ran one 4-12-2 at a club several years ago, but the rest of those have never been run.
I am waiting on the BLI 4-12-2 Hybrid Brass to be imported, but they continue to delay it.

*** Yesterday a old Winton C&O Allegany was towed in placed on the turntable and mover to Frankford Roundhouse 2's, second stall to be have it's missing detail replaced.  I took a few photos as it was moved into the roundhouse. The railroad is looking for a proper tender for the engine.

Winton move 3 of 4. A look at its good side and the large feed and return steam piping for the rear drive, that is missing from the other side.

Hello Frank,
H8s are impressive.  As I wrote before, one of them I have, is an Arbour.

Also, looks like an EM-1 alongside the roundhouse.

Petty/ The Winton is a beefy beast next to the slim EM-1. They are both there, one track apart. Where is your photo of the Arbor Allegany. I would like to see it. Frank

Frank,
Does that old Winton H-8 run? It looks pretty good from the pictures!

The Akane EM-1 looks to be in really good shape too!

Speaking of H-8's, and EM-1's, I got one of each of the EM-1's, one from Akane, and a Bachmann Spectrum unit......

Then I have 2 of the Arbour Models H-8's......But only one of them, is going to become an H-8......The other one is a good base to become a B&O KB-1!

Hi John : No, I got the Winton as a Basket case. A loco in need of a lot of work. I would never place power to a engine that old that hasn't seen a rail in 30+ years or maybe never. The drive will be taken apart and cleaned rebuilt and lubed. The motor removed looked at good . Cleaned and lubed then I'll turn it by hand to make sure it isn't jammed and smoothly turning. Then I'll try power to it and see how it responds. I got to look through all my valve gear pieces and see if I can come up with the 4 necessary sets. I will speak to the people at Bowser to see if they have supplied valve gear to anyone with this problem and also ask about the main rods and pistons. The missing left side feed and return steam pipes for the rear drive will have to be made from plastic tubing. Unless I can get a little help from the people at the Yahoo forum on scratch building brass locos. I'll post photos and put some questions there when I am ready to do it. The easiest thing is to get another Junker loco, and take parts from it, but the Winton is a rarely seen locomotive.
Well all I need is time to do it. I still have a loco project I am doing now that must be done first.
I am sure you have the same problems. Only time will tell how this works out.

Here's a shot of the tender, Frank.
The engine cost much money to build, and besides myself, two other builders.
It has a simple 'chuff' sound system installed.
I may be selling it soon.

Petey the tender looks a lot like the HObbyline 2-8-4 tender. Are the trucks different with the front 3 axel and the rear 4 axel?

Frank,
Yes I know just what your talking about about with the "just time" I got plenty of those floating around, like my Mantua 2-6-6-2 project to become B&O's "Old Maude" 0-6-6-0!

As for thinking, I got or will have a spare Arbour Models H-8 tender in the near future if interested, we could trade if you want it to go with that Winton.....I'll have to see what trucks I have to go with the tender, as I'm not ure its complete but will check if your interested in it!

*  I will be starting back up on my CNJ camelback.( I hope.) Want to get it done first.
