I am currently building my own layout.  I have a website for it.  Sign my guestbook if you wish, but please ignore the hockey related signings, they are left over from a previous message board, and Yahoo! likes to make things difficult.  I hope that I can learn alot from this forum.

Will "For Sale" posts be accepted on these boards?  I have an Athearn GP38-2 custom done as a Southern with high hood I'm considering parting with, although the eBay auction went unsuccessfully.

I'd say it's ok as long as people don't get carried away and hobby shop owners don't start posting their entire inventory weekly

Besides I have a whole mess of stuff I ought to sell.

Perhaps we should just have a board for "for sale" posts by itself - that way anything goes, railroadiana and all scales.   Hmm, needs a moderator...  I could do that, couple of the ones I have now are pretty dead.  A set of simple rules and you're there.

I agree that a for sale listing would be a GREAT item to include on the forum. I also agree that hobby shops and others who would use this as a place of business should not be allowed to participate. Gues I dont know what the rules should be, but nothing ruins a forum faster than turning into another version of E-BAY. E-BAY certainly has it's place, ( I shop there alot myself ) but this isn't the place. I think a user only, members only clearing house type forum would be very useful. GOD knows that I have " several tons " of  " must have " items that I would love to sell with-out all tha hassel of one of the comercial sites. THANKS for letting me put my two or three cents worth in.

No sorry, between layouts now some 3 years. MOved and havent found the space but working on it.

I had about 10 grand of pre and post war and modern lost in a flood several years back, was moving and stored it all in a rental locker. 3 flash flod and 2 weeks hit it.

I have been building back.

I have a super nice K Line Shay and a semi scale C&O Berk I am using to head up a shelf layout. It will be a coal and lumber theme.

It will also have the same in HO.

My Shay:

Painting the Berk

A Kit Bashed HO hand car building

Pre war Christams.

I made the white trees by gluing box wood twigs together for the shape I needed, I glued and wrapped the "trunks" with thread and painted them white and added some glitter.
