The GDLK is a Class III railroad that runs between Grand Rapids, Mi and Elkhart, Ind. Headquarters is in Kalamazoo, Mi at the former Botsford Yard (now named Gearhart Yard, as per the giant white sign on the tower). They have several customers, and connect with CN, CSX, NS and several other shortlines, like GR&E (Grand Rapids and Eastern).
Now an...."interesting" twist:
There's been a rumor that GDLK is going to expand service to Battle Creek over the soon-to-be-Amtrak's line east of Kalamazoo. I was wondering if they might get new power for this, because they only have 9 locos, and with the trains for the new plant, they're going to need more power on a train. Locos are
WAMX 3829 former BAR 352 a GP38-3
WAMX 4020 former CN 9605 a GP40-2LW
WAMX 4002 former CN 9405 a GP40-2LW
WAMX 4009 former CN 9448 a GP40-2LW
WAMX 4017 former CN 9564 a GP40-2LW
WAMX 4012 former CN 9481 a GP40-2LW
WAMX 4124 former NREX 6304 a SD40-2
WAMX 4125 former NREX 6305 a SD40-2
WAMX 3531 former NREX 2621 a GP35M

Train symbols can also be found at the above link
Any speculation and info would be appreciated!

GDLK TRAIN SYMBOLS ARE GDLK 302, Elkhart yard to gearing yard, then becomes GDLK 303 gearing yard north to grand rapids yard. GLDK501 is a switch job from gearing yard south on the Kalamazoo branch/sec. switching, Schoolcraft, three rivers, white pigeon, Michigan and Bristol and north side of Elkhart Indiana. I live in three rivers,michigan..email me at nyc.nrgm@yahoo.com for any other question about the GDLK.
