Over the Kinchafoonee Creek in Albany, GA on NS trackage rights to the GSWR connection in Smithville, GA. BL 2060, GSWR 2059, and CCKY 2050 lead the GSWR Albany Turn north while some locals try to get the catch of the day under the bridge.

Note the 2060's short fuel tank, from its former life on the Luxapallilla Valley where weight was an issue.

B&P 458 leading northbound at Great Valley, NY, stopping to switch the asphalt materials quarry.  Bridge over Rt.219 has faded B&O herald.
Train was stopped for a crew change at the NY/PA border to take it to Buffalo.  Light was fading fast by the time they reached Great Valley.

I got a pleasant surprise last month- GWI transferred B&P #886 to the Wellsboro & Corning RR! The Geep powered the morning yard job.

A very rare catch in the southern region world of G&W... original paint schemes are fading fast, this GP15T has managed to skip the halloween paint despite being only a few miles from the paint shop in Cedar Springs, GA. Seen here in the CIRR yard in Hilton, GA

Another holdout in the paint department is the BL 510. Seen here in Dawson, GA with the BL 2012. Both are GP38's.

Great catch on veteran R&S 104 and the rest of the power. I'm surprised with the paint blitz that's been rampant at G&W lately it hasn't met the fate of the paint shop.

I dug one out from earlier this year, a very rare occurrence on the GSWR...

The HAL had a major derailment taking the track east of Arlington out of service for several days. All the NS traffic for the Bay Line and CIRR comes through that route, so several detour routes over the GSWR were run. The GSWR gathered up an impressive collection of power to pull off the move, bringing NS traffic over the Smithville Sub to Cuthbert and down the Lynn Sub to Arlington, meeting the HAL road train there to swap trains, as 6 axle power is banned from the GSWR.
GSWR 2059, CCKY 2050, BL 2012, BL 2060, and BL 2321 drag the first detour train up the roughly 2% grade in Arlington, GA to the GSWR connection and on to the NS for interchange.

Unfortunately this was the only spot I was able to get a shot, as work had me running ragged that day.

I have some more pics from Nov. 10:

When the train gets to the Mt. Morris station (which is now Private Property), the engines uncouple from the train. The lead unit also uncouples and grabs the empties.

This one engine and the empty salt cars, head towards the mine:

The last 3 units are now heading to the mine to act as pushers and push the empties up to the mine.
