The Rochester & Southern operates a small remnant of the Pennsy's Rochester branch at Genesee Junction. The spur serves 84 Lumber and IIRC a scrap metal dealer. I managed to catch a few boxcars sitting on the spur a couple weeks ago.

GSWR 1703, one of 3 Paducah rebuilds on the property currently, is shut down on the mainline in yard limits in Colquitt, GA. It's assignment is the Lynn Freight, working between the CSX interchange in Bainbridge GA and north to Arlington GA to connect with the HAL and Albany turn.

Nice shot.......that "Horst Air-filter" is a dead-giveaway for Paducah rebuilds!

Thanks, Charlie. The other two Paducah units currently on the line are GSWR 1702 (GP 10-1) and 70 (GP 8). Power trades with the other southern region lines has been rampant, and keeping track of them has been rough.

Also posted in the caboose thread, here we have a light engine move from the Bay Line Railroad to the Columbus & Chattahoochee Railroad via the CHAT, HAL, and GSWR. Two LRWN switchers bound for the Mead Westvaco paper mill on the CCR, a BAYL GP40 for the GSWR at Dawson, and the caboose for use on the Omega Lead in Columbus, GA.
Taken in Arlington, GA shortly after absorbing the CCR into the G&W system.

Apalachicola Northern #716 is far from home working the Chattahoochee Industrial turn in Hilton, GA. This unit is stenciled for the CIRR, but is one of only two units left without being dipped in orange and black. A major bridge project and new business at Port St. Joe may see a resurgence of traffic to this once prosperous railroad, now relegated to one locomotive and minimal business.

The first train on the new Hilton & Albany Railroad returns from interchange with Norfolk Southern in Albany. This line was acquired in January 2012 from NS, and allows for the GSWR to make direct interchange with the CHAT, CIRR, and BAYL. The first few trains were over 100 cars to get the backlog of traffic cleared up.
One of only a few GP15T's in the G&W fleet, and the only one left in AN paint with its Mars light, leads the HAL train west near Blakely, GA.
AN 721, BAYL 1597 (the other former AN GP15T), BAYL 510, and BAYL 2012 for power.

One of two freight units painted in this scheme for the GSWR prior to the G&W takover, #3802 is now the only one left after 3801 was sent to Panama City for a rebuild and orange dip. Originally a high hood NS unit, it received a nose chop, with the control stand still set up for long hood forward running and the bell mount on the long hood.

GSWR 2880, also a former NS high hood, has recently been sent off the property reportedly for a nose chop. This unit is still in its Luxapalila Valley scheme with GSWR stencils, and is the only unit that hasn't been plastered with the 0 injuries logo.

These units seen here tied down in Lynn, GA.

GSWR 2207 working in Eufaula, AL to serve the few active customers remaining in the area, seen here in front of Dixon Lumber, which ships lumber loads by rail on centerbeam flats.

The 2207 is still on the property, although mothballed since the arrival of heavier rebuilt power.

GSWR 70, another of the Paducah rebuilds on the property, seen here in Columbus, GA before the CCR existed. This unit was sent back to Dawson shortly after the takeover.

The elusive 3801, paired with its sister unit 3802, in Cuthbert GA. The 3801 has since been rebuilt as a GP38-3 and was recently delivered back to home rails in G&W colors.

Thanks, gentlemen!

G&W paint has made it to the KWT railroad in Paris, TN. This tiny shortline runs on all excepted track primarily serving two clay mines. All of its motive power is ex-SP GP10-1's.

ex VRE number 2319 works the Bay Line Panama City FL yard. Several of these former passenger units came online, two of which went to serve the GSWR for a short time during the motive power crunch when the CCR was acquired.

Every once in awhile, I apparently fancy tilting the camera. BL 510 leads a trio of GP38's west out of Dawson, GA.
