These pictures represent some major track work for SW Florida. Considering the trackage that will be terminated has been in constant use since 1904. Built by the Atlantic Coast Line originally. Sure hope the previous pics were somewhat interesting.

   Take care,

   Folks,

I was informed this past week end, that the curve across MLK Blvd. has been completed. And the north leg of the wye is in tact. No word on the south leg of the wye yet. And I have'nt had the time to get to that area to take any recent  pics.

I've lived here in Ft. Myers for almost forty years. Saw the end of Seaboard Coast Line passenger service. The railroad cut back from Naples, Fl to Bonita Springs, Fl. And even ownership of the rail line change. But I never, never figured I'd see this kind of major line relocation here in Ft. Myers.

   I'll post more pics ASAP.

   Take care,

   Bruce

The B39-8 that was formerly in use on the Bay Colony, is headed to Fort Myers.  BCLR is retaining the 4 locos that still run, everything else is scrap.

Now here is a man that truely enjoys trains and locomotives. Of any size!!
Gordon F., head man at the Seminole Gulf Railway, takes the throttle of the newly rebuilt Gulf and Atlantic 4-6-2, owned by Bruce T. on the right, at the Steam Un-Meet of '08' at the Buckingham Central Railroad.

The boss man, Gordon F., at the Seminole Gulf Railway certainly enjoyed his visit to the Buckingham Central Railroad. He demonstrated that he appreciates all scales of railroading.
This is Gordon F. at the throttle of Pete B's NYC Mohawk makeing ready to leave the Pevo Patio area. Pete B. on the left looking ahead to make sure the line is clear, and Russ D. on the right, looking on.

   Take care,

While you have him there, see if you can get him to show you how to run one without blowing it up.

Two of the GEs, cab 601 and 573 are being, or recently have been, painted.  Must be making another movie.

8515 and 8598 arrived on the SGLR on Sept 20.  They made their first run on Sept 22.  On Sept 25 they overturned a rail, derailing 5 cars and shutting down the CSX interchange.  Dont know if it has been opened yet.

Atlas has announced the release of models of SGLR 590, 591 and 592 in HO.  Price is around $150 for the cheap version.  Too cool.

EMD GP9s 571, 576 &577 are history.  579 has had its lettering, logos and numbers removed. 580 is in Sarasota.

Caught the SGRR turn to Arcadia a few months back, they had quite a few cars with them and speaking with the Conductor, were making about 2 turns a week.  They cleared the crossing and tied the train up on the mainline right North of where I got pictures.

Seminole Gulf has acquired another GP9.  This one comes from Port Manatee.  It is being replaced by 2 genset-type units
