It appears that the cutting of the rolling stock should almost be complete.  The burnt cupola caboose is only a frame and wheels.  The 4 digit coach that was immediately in front of it on the wye has now been moved up to by the Penn View Mtn. coach and the open car at the engine house.  I'll have to take a better look to see what number it is for sure.  The double deck car is now just the planned gon without the ends.  Everything else appears to be as previously stated.

***EDIT***
The 4 digit coach mentioned is 7433.

RPO car in Marienville left by truck yesterday.  Car loaded by crane onto one flatbed, trucks on another.  Sorry no camera with me.

Some of the "busier" road crossings have been removed.  There are RUMORS to reasons the line may stay in place for a while.  I have seen nothing definate.

Last I heard, it was still at the WMSR shops in WV.  Geep #39 should be leaving via B&P A&E Line from Kane to Jburg, JBurg to New Castle via B&P Main, then CSX from New Castle to WV.  Geep was still in Kane last weekend when I rode in the NARCOA rail car trip to the Kinzua Viaduct and back.

Does anyone have any updates on the whereabouts of all the equipment? Also what is going on with the rail line and property?

The line has been getting ripped up over the last month or so.  The crew got pulled to go to another job I think near Altoona.  The only rolling stock that remains on property is an old dome top tank car, which is owned by Kovalchick Corp.  That is the reason it is still here, everything else was to be off property by June/July 2009.

We have a pretty good roster in our Yahoo Group with the disposition of most of the pieces.  We do have a few holes that need filled though if anyone can help.

Is there any proof of this? If so, that is fraud/embezzlement. But I doubt that was the case.

This happens a lot more than you're apparently aware.  Owner / operators get grant money from the state, then use it to repair stuff that the funds were not allocated for, or use the money for projects not related to the operation whatsoever.

One particular incident that comes to mind is when the Reading & Northern allegedly got public funding to repair the US 209 grade crossing, and instead used the monies for another project.  The details are vague, but I believe the city took them to court & won, as the grade crossing in downtown Tamaqua, PA got worse & worse.

well the thing is we do what we can, scrap what we can to get atleast soem money. We don't need all bran new rail, we can use old rail that current class one railroads left behind that is in decent shape. You replace every other rr tie instead of ever rr tie.

I'd be surprised if they replace every 5th, 8th or 10th tie, let alone every OTHER (2nd) tie.

Any 2011 updates on the line, has it been torn up as far as Kane, or even in it's entirety?

It appears that Kovalchick Corp. pulled up shop a few months ago at the Crown Siding.  Most major crossings have been removed on the line's entirety.

Now lets turn back the clock to better times of the Knox and Kane.  While these videos are not my property, their owners, Bob Hartle and Greg Hoover gave me permission to edit in the location subtitles and upload to my YouTube channel to share. Each of Bob's videos are approx. 1 hour long, and Greg's is approx. 1/2 hour long. Enjoy the videos!!!

These first 2 videos are from the 1993 excursion to Knox. Bob and Greg played leap-frog throughout the chase, so they each have a lot of different locations to compliment the others video.

#1 is Bob's video which feature the locations of:
*Marienville
*RT66 crossing-Roses
*Kahle Dr.-Vowinckel
*Haggerty Dr.-Crown
*RT66 crossing-Leeper
*Wolbert Dr.-Snydersburg
*Griebel Dr.-Snydersburg
*Lucinda Station
*Schupp Dr.-Schills
*Zacherl Fruit Market-Arthurs
*RT66 crossing-Paint MIlls
*Fulton Rd.-Elk City
*RT338 crossing-Knox
*Destination-Knox

Greg's video locations:
East Bound
*Blood Road
*Marshall Drive checking for a dragging tree limb.
*Leeper Siding
*Wolbert Dr.
*Snydersburg-east of Whitney Lane
*Licking Drive-Lucinda
*Pacing from near Zacherl Coal at Arthurs to RT66 crossing at Paint Mills
*Paint Creek Bridge (moves for photo run by)
*Elk City near Fulton Lumber
*Coming into Knox with Sloan Cornell in the orange hat and his grandson, John
Hafer who jumps off the train at the crossing
Westbound
*Pulling the narrows up out of Bryner.
*RT 322 crossing at Clarion Jct.

The final compilation of videos are from Bob from 1991 and 1993 which include:
7/8/1991- Backhoe pulling a weed spraying MOW from Clarion Jct., PA to Elk City, PA
8/18/1991- Watering #58 at the Russell City water tank with departure and horn action
11/13/1991- Porter 50 tonner #1 pulling a lone box car west full of items that were removed from the Knox, PA train station and engine house
6/23/1993- Work train powered by Alco S6 #44 running west to Marienville after
removing the Conrail Interchange in Shippenville.

I was in Mt. Jewett yesterday.

The K&K tracks between Kane and Mt. Jewett were scrapped recently.

Rails and ties have been removed. I'll post pics soon.
