Heard from some fire personel that there was a locomotive fire today on the Centreville line near Sudlersville, they advised that it sounded quite large with an addtional alarm called.
I did not see the locomotive but there was a cut of 20 cars sitting on the line in Massey late today.

Pretty sure it was the old ballast regulator that sits behind the ballast hopper, and not one of the RS3m's or the SW900. Jason, can you confirm?

That thing hasn't moved in the almost 3 years I have worked for the MDDE.

Two trains tomorrow:

Selbyville
Federalsburg

Turns out that the regulator in question belonged to a contracotr who was disposing of it, and not the MDDE's. The salvage company jumped the gun and began to torch it but it wasn't prepped for torching (ie removal of flammable fluids), resulting in the fire. I think it was the hydraulic fluid that really got that thing going.

I got a picture of it today I will post later, It did not look like scrap material before but it does now. Atleast the MDDE one has a nice tree growing out of the top.

Federalsburg train ran Monday, Massey train is running today. Don't know who is running yet tomorrow, but Massey is probably a sure bet.

Stone trains ought to start here soon too down south. Jason can confirm this.

In other news, 1202 is off hiatus and now working up north as the primary engine. #1201 is stored inside and #801 is stored in service in Worton. There have been occasions where the Massey crew deadheads to Worton to just switch the chemical plant with #801.
