Nice pictures . I am looking for the following pictures :

of  Ex-LI RR No. 221,V & M -Virginia and Maryland Railroad- ALCO C420 No. 202,
Ex- MDDE No.202 ALCO C420 in full dress. That's the paint scheme,in case you missed it.
I have a picture of this loco in N.Y.S. &W. RR yellow and black as it arrived on the BUFFALO SOUTHERN RR property.
This loco ended up on the BUFFALO SOUTHERN RAILROAD as No. 2010 and it's painted green, I think it's in storage.

Very interesting. I never knew MDDE had a C420. I will keep my eyes on the lookout. Do you have any other information on it? Thanks.

Sorry about the double post, but I just found this old picture of one of the RS3m's. It says in was taken in F-burg by Peirce Behrendt. I'm not exactly sure which engine it is, though...

Looks like it's maroon. I saw the picture of 2010 on their website yesterday, but that was the only picture I could find of it.

The Virginia & Maryland had the high hood C420s.  As far as I know none of them were ever lettered for the Maryland & Delaware.

The comapny that owned both lines had two low nose exLehigh & Hudson River C420s wearing MDDE 52 and 54 paint with no lettering = now Arkansas & Missouri 52 & 54.  I have photos of them stored and fully painted at Federalsburg, but they were not lettered.  There were also two RS32s on hand numbered 40 and 42.

MDDE power was the four RS-1s joined by the stable of T-6s.

When the VAMD 202 went to the NYSW it was painted in the VAMD maroon scheme.  It wore numbers 202, 2002, 2010 while on the Susquehanna.  Eventually it was repainted yellow and black, and later sold to George Hockaday and leased to the BSOR it wore number 2010.

While we are delving into history, here's a quick roster.  I can post more detailed info as found in my 2009 book called Northeast Railroads Volume II: Regionals and Short Lines:

Original DMV Corp. / MDDE / VAMD:  includes sold and parts units

MDDE:
T6:  12, 14:1, 14:2, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 100
RS1:  20, 21, 22, 23, 25
RS32:  40, 42
C420:  50, 52, 54   (all low nose)

VAMD:
S4:  10
C420: 201, 202, 203, 204 (all high nose)

There is also a photo in an ALCO book showing an RS1 numbered 1, in Rutland's green/yellow paint scheme, switching the Little Creek float brige.  My guess it may have been #20, as she was a former Rutland unit and was #1 for a previous owner.

Modern Day MDDE:

SW900: 801
SW8:  802
RS3m:  1201, 1202, 1203
CF7:  2628, 2630, 2632

Late notice, but the old PRR (Ex-Chesapeake RR) bridge over Route 404 near Queen Anne will be demolished this evening for the 404 widening project.

In other news, all 3 trains ran today. The plan for the Massey line from when I last worked was to run to Centreville today to work Carville. If everything was taken down that was online, there might even be some cars parked at the Tidewater runaround track.

Cut Jason some slack for the lack of his usual updates. Jason's been working very hard on the RR these past several weeks with all of the snow and subsequent events on the RR (let's just say Cranemasters has been busy with us; the MDDE was even on the WBOC news a couple of Fridays ago).

I just got back from the 404 Bridge, and the SHA workers said they were knocking it down between Wednesday and Friday nights, so tomorrow I'll be going by to get pictures. Thanks for the tip! But its possible they didn't want me to stick around, haha.

What was the MDDE on WBOC for?
