Figured I'd mix things up a little between the EL and D&H GTL's, due to their close working relationship back in the day......

Full disclosure - This is not on the D&H proper, but rather on what became trackage that regularly hosted D&H trains after 4/1/76, though it isn't far from D&H home rails......Too boot, the other RR shown here figures prominently into D&H traffic patterns of years gone by.

As we know (or may not know), the D&H really "got around" the Northeast in the 1970's leading up to, and just after the creation of Conrail.

This is one of those places D&H engines/trains "got around" to, and until recently, so did the engines of it's successor, CP Rail.

If you were lucky enough to railfan here between 1972 and 1976, you could be guaranteed to see a lot of different paint jobs!

GTL..........

I don't have a date for this one, but this Brian Woodruff photo via Railpictures.net is a great one, those big GE's had a great sound.

So, I wanna see how good you D&H guys are at G'ing this L.......

The NYC guys didn't want to bite, so I offer it up to you.

This location was a busy junction built in a field at one time, but today no longer can you find a girls (or guys) best friend here. And for both railroads located here, shipping via water was where they both got their start, before technology (ie: steam power) proved otherwise.
