I can't believe this forum has gone "unscathed" for so long without this popular RF.net "game"!

So let's start with this one.....Where is it?

That is the long gone D&H roundhouse at Mechanicville NY. What a great place to watch trains back in the late 70's and early 80's.

Matthew -

Now, when I firat tsaw this photo, that's what I thought, too......But according to the info I have, no. This is a cropped photo, and what is cropped out is what makes me believe the info I have is correct (in other words, it's not Saratoga Springs)........I do reserve (and welcome) the chance to be corrected by more knowledgable folk, however!

The area has changed some since then with the new station building. That RS3 is an ex B&M unit with a steam generator. - good photo.

For this one, not only GTL, but what line is crossed at this junction and the tower identification?

I will take a stab at this one and say that this is Mechanicville at the crossing with the Boston And Maine. The tower is XO.

Correct Frank on all three! The B&M is in the background and crosses the D&H just to the left of the engines. The Tower is still there just to the right and is a  museum.

What a great place to watch D&H and B&M trains back in the 70's and early 80's.
