On Monday, April 21, 2014, CP (D&H) GP38-2 7304 struck a disabled tractor-trailer at the Oak Street crossing in Pittston Township, Luzerne County.

This engine is one of two remaining CP units (along with GP38-2 7303) still in the blue/grey lightning stripe scheme which CP plans to eliminate with future repaintings. Hopefully there was only minor damage and the unit will not need to be shopped and repainted anytime soon.

Thank goodness there were no injuries........I'm sure the crew appreciated running long-hood forward in this instance.

From what I've seen, it looks like there were a couple of minor dings and a bent handrail.
