A photo of a meet between D&H and Conrail, on trackage belonging to neither.  Date was probably Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1984.
Lead unit on D&H freight is 7419.

Any guess?
It's not New York or Pennsylvania.  It's in Guilford territory.

Greenfield, MA, just a short hop from B&M's East Deerfield yard.  This spot is where the B&M's Fitchburg main (Boston-Mechanicville) crosses the Connecticut River line.  The Conrail freight was hauling empty P&LE hoppers, probably from the Mount Tom power station.

Here's another one, in another state.  First GP to the left is an original B&M GP40; second is B&M 336 - secondhand from Penn Central and Conrail.  Third unit has a Maine Central herald on the cab, with D&H colors.  I can't make out the road number, but it looks like either 281 or 261.  Guilford shuffled some GE units from D&H to Maine Central.

Nice photo, Mike.  I'd guess that was Dale, rather than Dalton.  Dale is west of Letchworth Park, used to have a little highway bridge by a semaphore that railfans used to like for a vantage point.  Dalton is east of Letchworth, with no overpass, just a cute little gazebo by the track.

Here's a photo from late 1984/early 1985 at Binghamton, BD interlocking, with D&H 651 leading two B&M GPs.  Info I found says 651 was originally Penn Central 6551.  Third unit, B&M 355, was originally D&H GP39-2 #7615.
