I'm currently researching the freight tunnels with the help of an excellent softcover book entitled 'Forty Feet Below'. Does anyone have info that they'd like to share? Wesites, books, or photos? Here are a couple of postcard views from my collection, circa 1907.

This view shows freight cars passing through an adjacent tunnel. It also gives a good view of the overhead trolley wiring.

Hi Hudson,

In case you are not already familiar with it there is a Chicago Tunnel home page on the internet as well as numerous other informative sites about this fascinating little 2-foot railroad. A Google search for Chicago Tunnel Railroad will list these sites and enable you to access them. Enjoy!
