My First Photo for 2017 .... #5333 with N743-30 waits on track #2 at Piedmont, WV while the B770-01 gets the signal to proceed east off the Interchange track. The Drag will wait at Piedmont while the Junction crew makes their setoff and ducks into the west yard at Keyser, WV before they can proceed to Keyser and pickup additional loads their - 01 January 2017

N743-30 now on track #1 at Keymont, WV to run around the additional loads they have to pick up already sitting on track #2 at Keyser - 01 January 2017

Having run around their pickup N743-30 is now back on track #2 as the B770-01 picks up the inbound freight out of the west yard at Keyser, WV - 01 January 2016

To get around a train already parked at Beall Street, the N743-30 now has to cross over from track #2 to track #1 at 21st. Bridge Road, MD - 01 January 2017

Old and New.... A pair old "old school "crossing bucks" protects the Green Mile Road crossing while in the background is the recently installed PTC building and Antenna. Also the old concrete mile marker gives way to father time as the more modern metal post and sign stands beside it.... at 21st. Bridge Road, MD - 01 January 2016

N753-05 westbound at Beryl, WV with empties for the Mettiki Mines. This is the 3rd. train since the beginning of December 2016 to load at Mettiki and the 2nd one this week. The coal is going overseas - 05 January 2017

7:54 am.... All I had to do was turn around..... #3007 leads Coal Drag N788-03 eastbound off 17-Mile Grade at Beryl, WV while below on the Thomas Subdivision Empty Hopper Train N753-05 heads west towards the Mettiki Mines to be loaded. The N753 is the second set of 90 cars to load at the mines this week - 05 January 2017

N782-03 (far left) splits their train in the east yard at Keyser, WV into 40 car cuts that will each be picked up by later drags. The W263-04 slows to a stop to pick up power to be ferried west to Grafton - 05 January 2017

I spent two days trackside with CSX last weekend. Day #1 was spent on the ROchester Sub near the Monroe/Orleans County line. Tyhe next day was spent at MP 361 aka the Main Street crossing. Unlike the rpevious day, the fog stuck around. Amazingly no serious injuries from this derailment. A non railroad related vehicle on a grade crossing caused this one.

CXS brought these wide loads up from Huntington,WV to Point Pleasant,WV. The Kanawha River is picking them up at the interchange track. The engine is a leasaed NS SD60, heading for Charleston,WV. Curtis

CSX #2555, a GP38-2 has just spun the wye in downtown Newport News, VA. Sharp eyes will note this locomotive is equipped for remote control operation and yes, that is the "operator" coming out of the cab. Taken on 6/23/17 at 1824Hrs. CHESSIEMIKE
