Glad they kept the EMD cab. I don't like the looks of the CSX replacements I have seen on the SD40-3s or the rebuilt GEs.

More of the classic C&O signals on the Peninsula Sub are going the way of this empty hopper train, away. Old and new signals stand at the west end of Newport News yard on 9/21/14.

I don't see too many SD80MACs. CSX #4592, a SD80MAC (ex-Conrail) works with CSX #3137, an ES44AC at Pinners Point, VA. 9/27/14 at 1300Hrs.

been seeing lots of gp 38-2's and gp 40-2's on the Toledo sub here lately.are they low on power or something? 2  gp38-2's on a 300 plus axle train is impressive.i know what it is 10 mins. before i see it.

Got some track side time today and found CSX train K080-07 eastbound at the west end of "Toppings" at CA35 on the Peninsula Sub. NS #9865 leads NS #9644, both C44-9Ws, at 1340Hrs.

Later in the day at 1750Hrs I found a Rock Runner, K967-03 westbound with CSX #3118, an ES44AC stopped to do some work at CA29.5. Since he was on Track 1, Amtrak train #66 sailed by with Amtrak #86, a P42DC leading the way west.

Got lucky with an empty oil train today even if the Sun did not shine. K081-11 westbound through Richmond, VA. If I knew my way around there a little better I might have caught a meet between oil trains, or at least the angle I wanted for this shot.
