Signal replacement work continues at Lee Hall, VA. Note the new and the old eastbound signals framing CSX locomotive #896, an ES44AH on train E503-20. I'm told the old signal will be given to the group working on restoring the Lee Hall Depot.

The oil is still flowing on CSX. Here we have K081-04, empties west with BNSF #5836, an ES44AC and BNSF #7461, an ES44DC coming to Lee Hall, VA.

Another Oil Train, this time eastbound through Lee Hall, VA. K080-09 with BNSF #9704, a SD70Mac and CP #9512, a CW44AC. Those with a good memory will note the CP unit came through as a lead unit on a previous Oil Train.

I spent a short while in Churchville at the Sanford Rd North crossing of CSX's Rochester Subdivision on Monday April 14th. It was a warm beautiful day, so I decided to see if I could "catch a few". I wasn't disappointed.

As I arrived, I heard a west-bound blowing for the Main Street road-crossing just to the east. I hurried up and managed this shot.

After the west-bound TV train passed running wrong-main (on track 2), I noticed a headlight faint in the distance. On my scanner, the dispatcher was talking to east-bound train Q640, who was stopped somewhere near Chili Junction on track 1 with a parted air-hose on it's 42nd car. The dispatcher was doing her best to keep everything else on the move around it.

Within the next 10-15 minutes, I saw the westbound automatic signals light up with another clear signal ahead on track two. I heard the horns blowing for Main Street and the horns didn't sound like your typical new GE. Around the bend was a CSX wide-cab SD70M with what sounded like a slightly fouled horn. It was accelerating pretty good......nice to hear the lead EMD throttle-up!

Next up was a west-bound empty ethanol train.......second unit was a Kansas-City Southern unit......couldn't get my POS camera to focus for a shot of that, however.

After those trains got through, the east-bound holding at Bergen slowly got moving as the 640 was moving again.......I got a few shots of this, as it wasn't yet moving that fast. As you'll see, the trailing unit (#7361) was doing it's best impersonation of an Alco C628!

Finally, one more eastbound came through Churchville before I headed out. Again, I was having focusing issues with the cheap camera that I have, ironically manufactured by GE.

In one of the "Railfanning with the Bednars" DVDs that I own, Big Mike speaks of the first run the Lehigh Valley made with the U23B engines. Billy Burnhauser told Mike, "GE should have stuck to toasters". Well, GE should never have made cameras either. After the trouble I had with this camera over the past three years, I decided I had enough. I removed the batteries (Duracell rechargable AA's) and memory-card, and I heaved it into the wooded area on the south side of the main tracks.

It was a 50 dollar camera, and it's proof that "you get what you pay for".

Below is my last shot with this ridiculously horrible camera. I was fuming.

If I had to guess, this is a PTC Test Vehicle. I'm just judging from all the extra antennas on board, one being GPS. Saw them take a long look at some of the new stuff around CA25 on the Peninsula Sub on 5/20/14 around 1530Hrs.
