Had this come through a couple of weeks ago leading a westbound manifest. Just your a typical OFOX unit that has been on lease to CSX for sometime now.

One of the oil trains that came east along the old C&O last Wednesday. K080-07 heads east with a couple of black stallions as the NS power starts sneaking through here again. Next thing you know, we'll start seeing CP or BNSF SD40s or SOO LINE SD60s leading these things.

Put this one in the "Day late & a Dollar short" pile. Struck out to Thurmond, WV to catch a C&O signal before it fell and struck out. I found out when I got there that it was coming down that day and part of it was already on the ground.

I like the big coal trains, don't see them here out east. Closest that I have near by are the stone trains from a quarry in Belle Mead NJ. It is a branch off of the ex RDG mainline. I hadn't seen any action in months, but sure enough they have returned. This was a very busy place in Conrail days when ballast was needed for all of the track upgrading go on.
