CSX operates some of the old Buffalo Creek RR, including the Ohio Street yard.

CSX had a cool little MOW critter in the yard, too.

Speaking of the Buffalo Creek, Conrail adjusted their operations to use the old BCK route across CP Draw as the main freight corridor for Buffalo in the 1980s. CSX and several other RRs still use it today.

That MOW "critter" is a jet snowblower. It has a jet turbine comparable to the type used on aircraft, and when tilted down uses the intense air pressure to blow snow out of switches.

Great shots! CP Draw never gets old.

Nice shots Matt..........the jet snowblower, I think maybe 15 years ago or so, Trains Magazine ran an article about how Conrail fought the lake effect snow around Buffalo and showed a few shots of those critters.

It was a pretty neat article.

I had heard that one was being put out to pasture. Glad you caught it before it was all gone.

Thanks to some heads up on the Yahoo groups last night and this morning. *cough*ODR*cough*
I was able to get this coming through Kenova earlier this afternoon. Some UP power on the C&O as UP 5903 and 6574 are seen leading K801 back to Russell.

I was waiting for a High and Wide, when this Eastbound came by with the C40-8W 7831 in the lead. I had missed the High and Wide, but I did catch this.

Found these setting outside the National Guard base along the former Indianapolis Line of CONRAIL at Marion, Ohio the weekend before last. These came in on Q106 out of Saint Louis and they possibly made a trip on the C&O up to Fostoria to make a run over to North Baltimore on the B&O.

There will be an orange Maine Central Caboose, RPCX 671, traveling from Selkirk, NY to Waycross, GA departing first shift Saturday, November 30 on Q409.

If anybody could provide a detailed timetable for Q409 it would be most appreciated and / or photos of the buggy enroute to Waycross.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

#671 has been sitting at Selkirk since 0400 last Saturdy adjacent to the "Speeder Road" north of the humps.

I am concerned that she has not been "tagged"?

Thanks for your help.
