After a brief stop at Buffalo Creek Junction (for some B&P action), Brian and I went to Red Jacket River Front Park. It gave us an excellent vantage point for watching CP Draw, which gave us an excellent vantage point for watching this eastbound light engine move.

Here's a good look at the bridge at CP Draw from a former DL&W embankment that sits in the middle of Red Jacket River Front Park. CSX and NS share the use of the bridge, since the ex-NKP bridge at right is welded upright.

This was a meet- a faster westbound CSX intermodal freight overtook a slower westbound manifest freight at Lake Avenue.

One day later, I spent the evening at Chili Junction.  The cloudy weather favored shots of eastbound trains.

Unlike the previous train, the auto racks headed down the West Shore Bypass.

The eastbound auto racks disappears down the West Shore Bypass. This was my final CSX sighting of the evening and my final rail sighting for the weekend.

Yes, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Blue Unit train. It was making the move from Norfolk, VA to Hampton, VA. The route was NS west from Norfolk to Petersburg, switch to CSX, north to Richmond, VA and then back east on the old C&O. Look on a map and you will understand why the 150 mile route to make a 20 mile as the crow flies move.
