Haven't been trackside in about 2 years but once in awhile a train still finds me...
on the old B&O (be it ever so crumbly) Philly Sub near 24th & Washington Ave.

Some days, the most interesting person you meet is a river with a train running beside it.

I know this isn't a CSX engine but it is on the CSX Ohio River Sub.

Curtis-

Good catch with the train and the "Baltimore and Ohio RR" on the bridge certainly adds a contrast of power and eras. I haven't seen near as many bridges with the full name as ones with the the Capitol Dome logo.

Is that the Kanawha River bridge at Point Pleasant?

Can't say that it's neither been confirmed or denied but I can confirm this. CSXT 8404 has been repainted into the new "Boxcar Logo" by Waycross.

An SD40-2 repainted into the new scheme..... never thought I'd see that.

I'm just glad there are still SD40-2s running around on the main-lines. This past week I have seen one of the 8000-series SD40-2s mated with an ex-Conrail 7300-series C40-8W. Usually all I see are the GEVO wide-cab GEs anymore, so that was a nice change!

I hear ya about SD40-2s on the mainline, Charlie.

Speaking of that, here's a close up of the #8138 and SD50-2 #2475 leading a work train through Mount Holly,NC today.

Speaking of the workhorses that are the SD40-2s. I've been fortunate enough to catch a few of them coming through here the past few weeks. Starting off with the CSXT 8095 running solo on a G867 a few weeks back.

While we had the 8070 come through here on Friday as the sole power on Q303.

Had a little bit of a treat come through here last night. Empty phosphate train K850-17 heads east through town with BNSF 4604 leading the charge. Unusual to see a BNSF unit around these parts on anything let alone leading.

Someone down at Russell, Kentucky must have bumped their head.

Russell will typically leave GE power on the K trains no matter what road it is. On the other hand, it quickly removes the EMDs on the K trains and especially the one that runs the Big Sandy Sub and Clinchfield to Mount Holly, NC. I've seen some interesting EMD consists on this train but when it hits the terminal at Russell, it is quickly removed and replaced with CSX AC power for the run into North Carolina.
