Saturday, June 5th, 7:25 AM, MP 854.47 of CSX 'A-line', through Lakeland, Fl., and I catch this Easbound train passing the Gay Road grade-crossing, just south of the 'Silver Moon Drive-In' (one of it's 2 screens at far-Right)

I'd never seen the FEC on this trackage before

I don't get-out often, so I don't see many trains, and if I were another 2 minutes slower, I'd have missed this one, too!

I recently had the chance to go down on the western end of the Kanawha Subdivision. Needless to say that I wasn't disappointed in the least bit. It proved to be just a slight bit congested while I was down there. Both number one and number three tracks were occupied by trains. Which, in turn, left only number two track open to move traffic.

All three photos were taken at the former C&O depot in Catlettsburg, Kentucky.

In the first photo, we have a crewless coal train sitting on number one track along with a crewless MOW train on the left.

The second photo is of a second work train passing the coal train on number two track as it heads for Big Sandy Junction.
http://conraillives.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2118563

Third photo is of the former C&O caboose that is currently undergoing complete restoration.

I haven't posted here in ages, so here's a few I did over the late winter and early spring.

This first one is from March of this year.

On a very beautiful Saturday, we couldn't pass up the perfect railfanning weather. Penn Rail Video made a jaunt down along CSX's Trenton Line, to catch the day's action. In this video, we'll see a total of six freight trains on not only the CSX line, but we will catch our first train on the NS Morrisville Line in Woodbourne. So come along with us, as we take you trackside for some mainline railroading action!

----------Train List & Locomotives ----------
NS 20Q
- 3 D9-40CW's, #9531, #9572, #9326

CSXT Q190
- 2 ES44DC's, #5426, #5263

CSXT Q418
- C40-8W #7686
- ES44DC #5286

CSXT Q706
- C40-8W #7790

CSXT Q438
- ES44DC #5302
- AC44CW #498

CSXT L174
- SD70MAC #4796
- C40-8W #7303 (ex-Conrail)

This second video is from April of this year. The trees are much greener.

Spring has sprung along the CSX Trenton Line, and Penn Rail Videos made 3 visits to the Trenton Line during the month of April. Our first visit on Tuesday evening of April 20th, were we catch Q174 in North East Philadelphia, and then see Q439 passing through the defect detector in the last bit of light that evening. On April 23rd, after a visit to the New Hope & Ivyland RR, we made our way down to Woodbourne to catch Q438 leave Woodbourne yard; we'll watch as the two big locomotives roar underneath the US RT 1 overpass. We'll then catch one of SEPTA's Bombardier train-sets led by AEM-7 #2403. Our final day on the Trenton Line is on a dreary April 25th evening, where we'll catch Q417 with a pair of SD50-2s on the point, slowing to work Woodbourne yard. We'll then catch Q301 passing through the Woodbourne station, with a SEPTA train only seconds behind Q301. We hope that you enjoy this video and look forward to our next adventure to the CSX Trenton Line, where we'll take you trackside in Center City Philadelphia.

This isn't all CSX, but the action itself is focused on CSX here in Clifton Forge.

For a few hours, Penn Rail Videos visited the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway Heritage Center prior heading to Cass, WV. For those who have never visited the museum, we highly recommend it! It has a lot of neat things to see, and we'll see a few of them in this video. If you wanna see what else the C&OHS has in Clifton Forge, visit their website at http://www.candoheritage.org/ and plan a visit to this very unique place! The town itself is very quaint and there's a bit of CSX action to see.

And one more from a few weeks ago; short but sweet!

On a Wednesday evening, Penn Rail Videos ventured down to the CSX Trenton Line for a few hours, and was able to catch CSXT Q191 on the Morrisville Line at CP W. LANG. We'll also see a clip of a set of older Silverliners on a SEPTA local. Get your clips of these while you can, before they're gone (or they all burn up!).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNZOasYW7iI

That's all folks! I'll post another batch of videos at the end of the summer; I'm sure I'll see/shoot some form of CSX action somewhere.
