Can anyone help identify the location of the following four photos?  They were taken by a relative during a trip across Canada in the 1940s.  Also, any inofrmation about builder and build date of the locomotives would be appreciated.  Many thanks!

The first, I believe, is in Field.

I concur.  Looks like Field, but I have to admit the others baffle me

Hmm--thanks for looking, guys.  The pictures don't have a lot of clues, do they?

I assume numbers 2 and 3 are somewhere on the prairies.  Interesting, Balto, that you indentified #3 as possibly in Brandon--I had been thinking Calgary or Edmonton, recalling that the Jubilees had been assigned to that route for a while.

The last picture seems to be from a different time--note the snow on the ground.  The location could be a suburban station somewhere (note the platform lighting) but that is not a suburban train--check out baggage car behind the engine.  Also, the cars are antique, to say the least (all clerestory stock).  Those people beside the engine appear to be in uniform, and I believe the picture was taken during the war--could this be a military move?

The 5912 eastbound, just about to take the siding at Grenfell.  I was quite surprised at the speed she hit the switch at.  I was standing on the road, a fair bit lower and didn't notice that the westbound was holding the main.  Two SD-40's and two GP38's.  Classic stuff nowadays!

8875 and its mate itching to go westbound at Grenfell.  Those big fellas do sound nice.  (NOT as nice as good old 567's, but much better than nothing!)

From the track angle behind the roundhouse in #2 I would think it rules out Edmonton as its the wrong angle but can't speak to track layout in Calgary.  The track in Edmonton would be 90 degrees from what is in the picture.

CP 6075 and two other SD's sitting dead at the east end of the Broadview, SK yard, at the head end of a HERZOG ballast train.  I can't recall ever seeing a train with three engines all dead.  I was always under the impression that the EMD's would leak water into the crankcase if shut down.  I've watched a couple of times when an old Geep conked out or had to be shut down, there was always a scramble to drain the cooling system.   Dead engines seem spooky to me!!
