There's only one active link left between the US and Canada at Niagara Falls...the CN bridge that is used by amtrak's Maple Leaf. I understand that CN wants to abandon it now. Incredible. With the unused michigan central bridge next to it supposed to be demolished, that will leave only the ancient international bridge at Fort Erie for a connection between the US and canada in that region. this reduction of capacity seems ill advised.
 
Is traffic down that much between the two countries? or is CN getting advice from former conrail chairman stanley "el destructo' crane?
