Any news on 'ol 60?  Iv'e seen the pics from Jan but they must have done something since then.  Then again, we all know how slow the BRW is with steam  Last I heard she couldn't run again because the track is in such horrible condition.  Even her whistle is currently on NYS&W no. 142 at the Bel-Del.  Sounds so much better.  BUT, any updates on 60?

my sources indicate that its unlikely that 60 will be operational this year, although work does progress, all be it slowly.  there is also opportunity for volunteers who would like to get dirty working on it.

New Hope stuck those tubes in #40 in 4 weeks, #60 could be done in about 7 weeks I would say. But, BRW aint as ambitious with steam.

New Hope kinda has the same steam aditude that Strasburg has.  Without the steamer we get less people and we make less money  The NH&I is just one of those railroads that work hard and they don't mess around either!

Just got a tape called "Tri-State Steam, 1986-1996" and it has some stuff about 60 in October 1991.  When your 10 years old riding 60 was something I didn't apriciate as much as I would now and I had completely forgoten the locomotive.  So I watched the tape and it all came back to me.  Old no. 60 is a good-sized engine, bigger and heavier than NH&I 40, and the film just made me think how sad it is that it hasn't run in 5 years  I can deffinatly tell you it brought back memories  It is acctually almost as big as SRC 475, not quite but still up there  It was bigger than what I thought

I don't think bashing the BR&W will get the 60 done any sooner. I am not trying to be mean, just calm down. It's my job, I moderate here.

I think we all miss her.

As a matter of fact, my screename could have been BRW_Fan if #60 was running when I joined!

Oh, and sorry if I came off a bit headstrong in that last post.

You didn't.  Like you said, it's your job, I have to do it in the Wilmington & Western and Wanamaker, Kempton & Sountern boards, too.  When I said "Mr. Moderator" I didn't mean that in a sarcastic way.

Sorry...
