Do they work on 60 every Sunday? I'd be interested in helping out if I can. I have prior experience installing flues into a certain 2-8-0 which isn't that far from Ringoes

Which one would that be ? Just asking ?

Hey Colin-

(In regards to restoring a steamer)  No Colin!! Run away! Save yourself while you still can!!   Haha   Nah thats cool that youre out there. I will say this, you`ll get a very different perspective on things once youre on the "other side" of the railroad world.  Dont be afraid to get dirty, its a pretty rewarding feeling when you see something in action that you know you had a part in. Take care.    -Chris

Of course they could use more people!  The more people, the better.  Obviously the people who are more experienced will get to do more work on the locomotive, but it sure doesn't hurt to do your part and help out a bit here and there.  Little things add up.

Now do I sign up for the trust in order to be able to help with #60 (btw I have no knowledge of how to repair a real steam locomotive but I am a fast learner) ?

Last I knew there were still folks running the trains that were there before the trust came to be and had still not joined. I would of course suggest joining the trust weather you have to or not.

I was just curious if any works on the equipment during the week.  I stopped by yesterday, but didn't see anything.  I am usually busy on weekends, but have some freetime on week nights.

Thanks.

Hey Eric,

Yes, the tubes have been delivered.  Last I was there (two weeks ago) there were only about 4-5 of the big 6" tubes installed.  But now that they have the rest of the smaller tubes I'm pretty sure things will pick up.  They are so close to completeling that thing it isn't funny.  I'll give an update for you as far as the tubes go when I head out there this weekend.

I am thinking about joining the BRRHT and helping out with the restoration of BR&W #60. I want to be apart of something like this, so when it runs, I can say that I helped restore this peice of history. It's time for me to stop foaming and start doing something that can make a difference. I'm planning to visit the RR first on May 20th, to see what it's like.
