I have a few shots of BNSF trains in the Loop area to share.
Here we have a train catching it's own tail!

At Caliente, which by the way, means hot , and it was! 106 and no shade, glad I didn't have to wait long. I have more if anyone is interested?

Sorry for the delay, here's a few more and I'll try to keep them in order, Here's the helpers at the crossing in Caliente. The only time I had to shoot and watch trains was late afternoon. some of the spots aren't great for Late PM shots, so I did what I could. We'll see these helpers often as PM shots favor the downhill trains.

The lead unit are heading through Cliff. While watching this train, I heard more horns at Caliente and waited for the next train. Glad I did as it had a nice clean KCS unit.

No beautiful Western scenery here, just locomotives that are of interest because they aren't seen here very often.  Conrail shared Assets' Pavonia Yard, Camden, NJ; Sunday Sept 11, 2005

I got out along the BNSF for a few hours the other day. Hoping to get some bright sunshine and some fall colors. The sunshine didn't last but 5 minutes though, before it clouded over.

Here's a shot from Melvern, KS. I'll come back next fall, hopefully with some sun.

BNSF grain train in Wellsville, Ks, running wrong main due to track work. This shot is good, despite the clouds I think.

The last train was meeting this one at the Wellsville X-overs. There's some of the fall colors I wanted!

You're probably wondering why I'm posting a picture of an NS led train on Union Pacific rails in Topeka Ks? Well, BNSF has a little used trackage rights agreement on the Golden State Route from Kansas City to Vaughn, NM. I have the strongest suspicion that this is one of those hard to find trackage rights trains. The locvation is SJ Junction in Topeka Kansas, and this Rack train is just pulling off the Kansas Sub onto the Golden State Route. Hidden behind that tree is a man who came 15 feet from being hit by this train as he walked across the tracks without a glance left or right. It would've made Matt's blood boil!
