That 7687 is one brutish looking unit. She looks great in that paint scheme with the new logo.

I just moved to the East  after living in Castle Rock, CO for the past nine years, Watching the mixed line traffic daily.   This  logo on the "War Punkin" looks like a Rio Grande Flash back.  The UP may not be happy since they are holding righs to all their fallen Flags familly.  The BNSF has been confused regarding their colors and idenity since the merger.  Sort of a new face, maybe

IMO, I like the new logo. It's something fresh and modern in the dull schemes of most class 1's today. I think that I see what would cause a lot of people to not like the look of the new logo. BNSF should've changed their whole paint sheme to work with the new logo. Right now it looks as if they took one of their existing "pumpkin" locomotives and slapped on the new logo. Perhaps it's kind of a shock to those who are used to seeing this scheme with the big "BNSF" on the side. I believe that if BNSF took the time to design a paint scheme around the logo they would really have something. To be honest, I'm glad that they are trying something new but they are getting awfully close to Lehigh Valley territory with their identity issues. Better to pick one scheme and stick with it.

It's no worse than those stupid flags on the UP power they have today. Those flags look realy stupid.

Agree with orginial poster. Looks terrible. Especially when compared to most recent. The orange on engine is duller in addition to that PC logo. UGH.

How could that new logo even compete with

Its finally settled. Between the lousy new CSX paint scheme and this one I have decided to model only the years between 2000-2004

Actually, while I didn't like it initially, I must say I'm warming up to the new logo. It's going up everywhere too. I saw a 5-unit double stack car a week ago with the new logo on it. I wonder what it would look like in yellow on the sides of the engine?

Sorry, I'm a little late in the game here, but, boy, do I hate that logo. It's alright n'all, but it removes all the connections to "Santa Fe" and "Burlington Northern". I personally loved the old logo, and I'm just not satisfied with this one. I'm most upset because they changed thier name, "BNSF Railway", sheesh, are we over in Britain?

Brighter colors would have been better for new logo.  Once in field the dirt will reduce the graphics of this logo.

Bright yellow would have been nice.  Too bad they didn't ask us first

Dose THIS answer your question?

Onward to the OPINION!
I dont LOVE it, but i can stand to look at it. It still looks retarted on the front of a unit though. In other words, slap H3 on the side, leave the H2 Cigar band on the front.

Awesome. Yeah, I think it looks a lot better in yellow than in black. That's funny, 'cause when I wrote that, I didn't know they had yellow ones too!

If you look closeley, it's just new speed lettering on the H2. On the SD40-2's, it's new lettering on the H1.

An hour and a half ago I caught a solid train of brand new BNSF Hoppers heading through Emerson, Ga! Also caught a NS GEVO!

I'm late to this string, but have the follwoing comments:

As a tradition-bound sort of guy, I don't care for it. Of course, I didn't care for the original merger schemes, either.

I ahve yet to see it on a locomotive - and in fact this past Wednesday (Pearl HArbor Day) saw a pair of locos siting in the big Hiuston yard off Wayside still in Blue & Yellow Santa Fe colors - looking pretty good, too. Clean, not faded or beat up. Pelasure, that was...

The NS paint scheme is definately better than BNSF's scheme AND it's logo combined! I'll echo Joe (NHI_Fan)'s comments, renaming it to "BNSF Railway" sounds too British. "BNSF Railroad" would be ok, but I still hate BNSF.
