The 145 came west by Roseville going to Oakland on # 5 yesterday and led train # 6 east today in better light than the 10 PM arrival last night.

Good catch. Last time I was in Thurmond was for a New River train pulled by NKP #765! I need to get back out that way.

The 184 gets around the system.  I caught it several times on # 5 and #6 in the past two months and recently on the snow train with #66 west from Reno back to the Bay area.

Looks like Trains 66 & 67 are getting the Heritage units lately. Here we have P066-20 accelerating out of Newport News, VA right on time with #156 doing the honorers at 1720Hrs.

It has been quite a while since I have seen an Amtrak Heritage Unit. #184, the Phase IV P42DC was on Train #66 as it slid through Lee Hall, VA. Good eyes will note the wave from the engineer. It was not at me, but the crew on the eastbound coal train just out of the frame on track #1.

CSX was nice enough to clean up the foreground for me. Amtrak Locomotive #822, a P40DC in Phase III Heritage Unit paint leads train #66 through Lee Hall, VA on 9/23/14 at 1734Hrs.

#156 was back in the area. An overcast sky helped in this 0920Hrs shot of westbound Amtrak Train #94 out of Newport News, VA on 11/13/14.
