Train #3143 on Thanksgiving Sunday was on the same schedule as train #3043 on Thursday.  I expected to see a MARC train and found an Arrow III instead.

Here's a couple of shots of the 'electric dragons' at the end of the line in Boston's South Station. I was in Boston on business and commute up from New Haven, CT. I take the regional train 'cause my company won't pay for the Acela.

Nice shots of the Acelas.  I really like South Station.  If they could only do the same with Union Station in DC.  Being DC and Amtrak's home, I would have expected that station in much better condition.

South Station isn't very large for a terminal (technically it's a terminal and not a station), and I think that the renovation included the tearing down of part of the wings on either side of the curved facade. Perhaps some of our Boston historical members can check in on this.  I think it's a grand ol' structure and I'm glad it wasn't torn down completely and replaced with a giant plexi shelter! It's convenient, too. I can get right off of the train and get on the Red Line subway, walk right into the finacial district, or into Chinatown. The waiting room leads right onto the platforms, so when the train is called, out the door and onboard!  Here's a circa 1910 postcard view of the building when the el was located next to it.

Caught these pics at the Kingston Interlocking today after we had a dusting of snow.

Train Number 2167 southbound through the Kingston (RI) interlocking.  Damn, the Acela travelling at 135mph kicks up a blizzard behind it.

Train Number 137 southboung through the Kingston (RI) interlocking.  Notice the large amount of water spraying from the Cafe car.  I wonder why that is??

I grossly got the timing off on this shot of train number 2168 heading northbound though Kingston (RI)

Bob,
Nice catch! I was in Strasburg on the 6th and must've heard that Amtrak train while on the SRC 12:30 Troops Train (going toward Leaman Place). Sorry about the pixels on this one, I used digital zoom and apperently it's not usefull . Here's a Phase 3 AEM-7 leaving Philly.

Snapped a HHP-8 as a CSX freight runs on the High Line in the backround. We were en-route to 30th Street for a mini-railfan trip.

My advice I give everyone, never use digital zoom, especially at the highest resolution.  Digital zoom screws up the quality, as you see.  Your pictures will come out better if you use the crop feature on your photo editing software.  I took one of your oversized photos and cropped it and see what you think.
