Hey! My first picture posting here!

I took this one on a day trip from Raleigh, NC to see the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Salisbury. This is my return trip - Amtrak #74, The northbound Piedmont, rolling in to Salisbury station, right on time. You can see the NCDOT-owned F59PHI #1797 City of Asheville pulling a consist of some (also NCDOT-owned, and very clean) rebuilt Heritage fleet coaches. Sorry for the overexposure and tree in the way. I wasn't ready and didn't have much time to try again, as I had to actually get on the train to make it home.

A (still overexposed, sorry ) closeup of NCDOT-owned F59PHI #1797, the City of Asheville. Incidentally, 1797 is the year that the city of Asheville, NC incorporated.

Here are some pics that I took yesterday in the Kingston, RI area.  I did notice a higher number of HHP-8's.  We usually get mostly toasters up this way.

I neglected to mention that the doubleheaded banana shot was Regional train #85 on Friday Oct 1 arriving at Trenton on track 1 after waiting outside the station for the Pennsylvanian to clear.

#85 came in on track 1 instead of track 4 to allow the SEPTA R7 train to depart for Philly on time.

This photo is Acela Express train #2163 passing through Trenton Friday afternoon, Oct 1.

Today, I was testing out a Canon EOS Digital Rebel.  I wanted to take pictures of Amtrak 135 in a different location, but being 25 mins late and on break from work, I took them from Kingston Station (went there to check on the status of the train).  All pics were taken with a 75-300mm Canon lense.

I decided to test and experiment with my new Digital Rebel and try and take some low light sunset pics of Amtrak 174 (who was running 1 1/2 hours late, that is why it is darker than expected).  While there, I got a surprise when a Southbound Acela came up from behind me.

Here is the tail end of train #2175 as it rounds the corner at Wolf Rocks.

Here comes the 174 peeping her nose from around the corner.

WOW!!! 1st time I have seen this up this way, 2 toasters at the front of the train!!!

Here they get a lil closer.  After this picture (the 8th), I had overloaded the temporary memory while it was writing to the CF card.  Say one thing, this was a LONG train.  I figure that something happened and they doubled up on a train.

Well what else would they use for power? Definitely not a switcher or an electric.

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this board.  I thought you folks might want to see an Amtrak picture while Conrail was still in business.  This was taken on a Wednesday evening on the Pittsburgh, Pa line at MP 320.8 Hope everyone enjoys.
Tim

Took these pics while I had some time to Railfan today (11/10/04).  Caught 4 Trains here in Kingston (Rhode Island).

Northbound Acela Express (running late) Northbound by 30 Acre Pond on the University of Rhode Island Campus.

Few minutes later, caught this Acela southbound by 30 Acre Pond on the University of Rhode Island Campus.

Northbound Acela Express (running late) Northbound Train #172 coming out of Kingston Station.  Notice that fancy numberboard.  This train was running about 35 minutes late.

Northbound #172 passing a southbound train just north of Kingston Station at the Kingston Interlocking.  Wish I had a better zoom lense for this pic.  75-300mm, coming soon.

Southbound train pulling into Kingston Station.

No wonder train #172 was running late...the 4th graders Amtrak hired to make 953's number board used the slow-drying fingerpaints.

Some days, the most interesting person you meet is a river with a train running beside it.
