i would have to agree, it does appear to bill a bobber caboose.
The steps are consistent with bobbers.

Yes, the engine is on loan from the Smithsonian.

As for the plywood covered car, I'm very sure it is a PRR cabin car, No. 478396.

I see there's a lot of activity in this thread so just having been there I'd like to say I think it's really GREAT!!! I really like what they're doing and what they have done since I was last there. I got to drive to Harrisburg in a real white face cab with a TV simulator! NEATO! Conrail is represented with a nice diesel in the center of the museum across from the John Bull. Kind of an old to new comparison as the museum has been slightly re-arranged and I like the new placement concept. Lots of interactive stuff for the kids as well! Asa played with the train boards pretty much the whole time while my girlfriend enjoyed the AC. Then, armed with video camera in hand I took video stills of just about every piece in the place and outside as well. Love the Berk and the Mike! Really nice gift shop but the prices are a little steep. Some of the coffee mugs were outrageous at twelve, fourteen and sixteen dollars. The lowest priced one was like $7.95 and that was for a Plain Jane crossbucks - Crazy! I didn't see a Lackawanna mug and I can't imagine what they would have wanted for that. All railroad goodies are expensive so it's not a cut on the museum itself,  just an observation. They're fixing up the front to look like a passenger station! That's going to be cool...

A really great place!!!

Jim...

After the Strasburg Railroad made their last run for the year, I decided to stop over at the Railroad Musuem of Pennsylvania. It was a great time, with a lot of information on all the equipment and stuff.

Here are 1223 and 7002 facing off, with the John Bull behind them

It still surprises me that a Conrail diesel is in a musuem. It sure looks nice, though
