We were all really surprised to see GG1 #4935 in the shop.
It's all ready for display, they just need to move it

They look nice, but they've been striped of all parts. The tour guide also said that they're just waisting 155 feet of track

Hi All,

Haven't been the the Museum in a dog's age, but excellent shots. Would have been happier with color shots, but great shots anyway.

Was pleased to see that #520 L-1s Mike is appearing to be in good shape. If memory serves correctly, the last time I was near her the right side cylinder (starboard side) was all rotted and rusted out. Glad to see she is all in one piece again. The L-1s Mike in my HO gauge stable thanks you as well. Mine is in running order, how about # 520 ?

I dont think any steamers that the museum owns are anywhere close to running order. The museum does do a heck of a nice job with cosmetic restorations though. The museum really moves stuff around often. Since the beginning of summer, judging from pictures I have seen and from being there, at least half of the equipment has moved a little.

Any news on the Reading MU car they are restoring out there right now?

Why is the black GG1 the most famous engine in the museums collection?
