Last one for now. I have about 200 pictures. If anyone wants a picture of anything on the property of the B&O museum, I most likely have it. So feel free to ask and I'll post it.

This engines last home was in my home town. The 1200 used to be a Reading and Northern Engine. I must say its looking better now.

Hello WM!

I see you proudly display the Western Maryland logo so I have a question that I hope you can answer.

I'm planning to visit that railroad next week and was  wondering about accomodations in the area.

Some posts are recommending the Holiday Inn as I read you can see the trains from your window and it is quite busy.

My questions are is this area safe? Have you ever stayed at this hotel? If so, was it clean?

Thanks in advance.

What is the future of 2101? I haven't been to the B&O since about 1995 and when I saw her I nearly wept because she is in DIRE need of work! Is there hope that she will get some care or that she will get a new home somewhere else?

If I could, I would get me some cans of BLACK paint and paint her myself.  Plus the headlight visor, the eagle, and the NKP-style number boards would have to go.

I can help you guys out here. The right side, when looking at it from the front, looks to be in fairly good condition. The left side however, is just plain bad.

The last time I was down there was in the early 80's right after I took over the Baltimore territory. I had some time to kill and I saw the sign for the museum and thought how cool it would be. I was surprised to find it open during the week. I went inside and BAM! The smell hits me and revives a memory that I had totally forgotten! I had visited the museum way back in the early 60's with either my Boy Scout troop or on a school trip. But man the memories came flooding back as I looked at the different cars and remembered seeing them all before! Yea, I'm an old guy!

Can't tell you how nice it was to look at all of teh pictures you all took. A lot of the stuff wasn't there in the 80's.

Later!
Mr. Ed

I got pics of nearly everything there, so if your looking for a pic of something there, i might have it.

One of the Steamers on Disply outside the Museum in the parking lot... I'd like to see this one running.
