The Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, VA has repainted their C630 #1135 in blue. I'll let others argue about the shade, but this unit was blue when it was new.

I don't know enough about the N&W blue paint schemes and their variations to say it it's right or not, but you sure do know how to work a camera!

Good picture.  Like photiman, dunno if they picked the right color or not, but have to say - you could sell a lot of the paint down in Tijuana, unless the taste in house oclrs has changed. That is a pretty good Tijuana Blue if i ever saw one.

I never saw N&W power before 1977 and everything was dark, dark blue or the stark black-and-white paint schemes. Could that shade of blue been close to what N&W used before the merger with Wabash and NKP in 1964? That said, at least THIS Alco won't be going to the boneyard anytime soon.

Come to think of it, looks  lot like a Conrail Blue - but i'll bet the museum researched the color scheme from when it was new and got the right bucket of Duco out.
