How to obtain Alco 244 spare parts?

I was wondering whether if there are any companies that sells the spare parts of Alco 244 engines?

At the moment, we're currently working to restore some old GE-Alco shovel nose locomotive in Indonesia. These locomotives are powered by Alco 244 engines. Of 27 delivered in 1953, only three remains in existence. One in working condition, thanks to cannibalizing parts of its sisters.

But still, it need replacement on its engine parts. Namely cylinder liners, and other parts that I forgot.

This is the locomotive:

Alco 244 diesels had some problems that led to the Alco 251.  You would probably have to search out shortline or regional railroads with their own parts supply.

There was a magazine article on the Arkansas-Missouri Railroad some years ago, showing their dead lines of Alco diesels and spare parts.  I'm not sure how much of that remains.  They continue to operate Alcos with 251 diesels and one or two RS1's.

The Livonia Avon & Lakeville Railroad is another that comes to mind, in my part of the country.  There is a forum for it in the Regionals and Shortlines section of this website.
LA&L website:

Fairbanks-Morse still exists, building mainly marine application diesels.  They acquired rights to produce the Alco 251 design.

Cummings is a company building valve-related parts for Alco 244 engines:

Good luck!

You will have search for spare parts for the 244 engine by checking with dealers that sell used parts, and contacting the Delaware -Lackawanna  Railroad  in Scranton, PA who has the largest collection of RS-3's operating in the United States.
Also, check Rail Swap .Org which is a site where people can sell and buy parts, and advertise their needs.

No one makes 244 engines parts new. I hope this helps.
