Gentlemen:

What became of the SF's dining car china (dishes, platters, cups, etc.) after the Amtrak takeover in 1971?

Was it all sold at auction, offered up for sale, or simply destroyed? (certainly hope that the latter does not hold true!)

I know that the SUPER CHIEF was unique in that it was one of the few trains in the United States (according to "SANTA FE RAILWAY" (Glischinski) that had its own pattern for its dining car china-Mimbreno.

This design was conceived by designer Mary Colter, who designed some of the SF depots and Harvey Houses.....quite a gifted and talented lady!

Appreciate any info........thanks in advance.....

*Here it states that SF's china (produced between 1936 and 1970) was made available to the general public via two sales in 1971; am surprised that SF china was still being produced that late, only one year before Amtrak!
