Just wondered if anyone had any pics of Hennie (I think the spellings right) transport trucks?    They had a great slogan "big or tinnie just call Hennie".  I am going to put one or two on the layout.  Just looking for some old island things to bring home the old feel.   thanks.

Actually, it was Heaney ... Big Or Teeny, Just Call Heaney ...
One of their main yards was on Douglas St in Victoria.

A update on what I have been up too. The link is supposed to work for those that don't have facebook accounts and never want one. Some might spot a CP unit going down Store Street.

When Rapido announced they were going to produce a ho scale GMD-1, I placed an order right away for an unnumbered unit so I could have it numbered 1070, the last CN engine to operate on Vancouver Island.

I don't have a layout and I probably never will so I got the DC one without sound, I basically got it for a static model.

I believe they did make them in N scale too

Rapido are also going to make RDC's, in HO.

In other Model Railway news, the Victoria show this year (2015) is MAY 24.

Not September, because the ice would be in JdF before then.  We're debating how much Lego we bring, at least 11 tables again of it, probably including the 16' bridge & a 8' bridge as well.  (and perhaps more)

Hope this isn't a repost.  Scroll down the link and check out the E&N layout.  The pic of the Dayliner crossing Niagara Canyon is pretty cool.

CP switching on Store Street. After four moves and much damage. I have started to reassemble my freelance HO layout based on the E&N and PGE.

its a 8 foot module that is only based on Victoria's Store street. The track enters over a drawbridge and then curves on to Store Street, serving several industries before ending at a team track and freight house at the far end.

No, im very aware of that.  I grew up in Victoria in the 70s and 80s,watching CP switch store street and Albion yard in person.  I was asking which particular spur on store street that the spur in the  photo represented. Garden city? swift meats?  It looks like it would have been one of those two. It looks cool. thanks.

Based on swift meats, and here we have the diamond in Store street serving a  relocated warehouse.

A winter shot from my E&N based railway on the Sunshine Coast. A little smaller at about a 101 miles and free of the political stuff of the E&N.

Like others in this thread, I've been inspired to do a model of the E&N's Albion yard and Store Street. I'm doing a thread at Model Railroad Hobbyist about my attempt to build an HO-scale shelf layout version here: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/30619.

My track plan is below. As you can see, I made some modifications to make it a shelf layout.

That's great! Can't wait to see more.

EDIT: How would one 'stumble across' your thread on MRH? I figured it would be in the discussion forums under 'dream and design', but it's actually in a blog area...I'm not up to speed on navigating the blogs...

I have no idea how to stumble across it! I'll see about adding it to dreams and designs. I'm not up to speed on their structure either.
